Restaurant Review : Lazy Hunter

If you’ve scrolled down through our Instagram feed, then you’re probably aware that here at Camden Watch Co., we absolutely love food.

So every month we go on the hunt to find the best places to eat in Camden and share with you our often delicious foodventures.

This time we went for dinner at the charming Lazy Hunter, a delicious slice of countryside vibes in the heart of Camden.

A Feel At Home Atmosphere

If you are looking for a rustic and heart-warming restaurant in Camden, then look no further, the Lazy Hunter is the place for you. It is a real respite in the middle of the city, the perfect weekend escape without having to take a long and tiring road trip.

It’s cool decor with its open plan kitchen, wooden tables and wild animal drawings on the walls make you feel right at home.

Lazy Hunter: Hunt of the Day Right on Your Plate

As its name perfectly reflects, Lazy Hunter is the restaurant where you’ll eat the freshest of ingredients without having to move from your chair - and without having to hunt it either.

Let's start in the morning, we can safely say that this is one of the best places to eat brunch in the whole of London. For only £13.95 on the weekends you can enjoy a great breakfast, chosen from a wide range delicious options, alongside both a refreshing cocktail and a good coffee.

Our favourites? The full Hunter’s breakfast (pictured below) and the Hunter's Trap.

This week, however, we headed over to devour a Hunter’s dinner, and we were far from disappointed.

If you’re as hungry as a wolf, we’d recommend the Dark Forest Hog’s Burger, which comes in a homemade black bun filled with wild mushrooms, tender chestnuts, crispy bacon and of course delicious roasted slices of Hog. The black bun is a great option for the colour alone, and if you plump for sweet potato fries as a side you will not be disappointed. What we love about their burgers is the uniqueness of them. When you're at the Lazy Hunter, you can't imagine being anywhere else.

If you're after something veggie friendly and full of goodness you should go for the warming Countryside Ravioli. They also have a great range of stews, salads and steaks so there is truly something for everyone without offering a overwhelming choice that makes it too hard to choose from.

And if you are lucky enough, you’ll walk in on the day when the special is the enormous Lazy Beast Burger. Certainly not one for the faint-hearted, this burger truly lives up to it's name and boy is it good.

If after all that, you've a hankering for something sweet then never fear, Lazy Hunter have got you covered on that front too with its collection of so called 'naughty things'.

Back in late 2016, we launched what our first ever Limited Edition watch. Based on Tom Sayers, a champion bare-knuckle boxer from Camden, it was a steel No.88 with a black dial limited to 200 pieces, and we loved it.

Produced in four batches of 50, each batch sold out fast, and ever since we have received emails and messages asking us if by any chance we've held any back (we haven't), or even if it was possible buy our very own edition (it isn't).

Camden and its market are ever changing, just as the rest of London is evolving, but somehow you can still feel the echoes of Camden's history. Most notably, and perhaps one of the main reasons people visit Camden, is its fundamental place in London's punk scene.
