Introducing The Camden Watch Company

Introducing The Camden Watch Company

We were walking through the streets of Palermo in Sicily on a balmy summer evening, eating a delectable Gelato served in brioche, when Jerome turned to me and said:

"We should call it The Camden Watch Company."

In that moment, the whole brand seemed to fall into place. We had been searching for a name for our watch brand for so long, bouncing ideas off each other but never quite finding something that fit. As soon as he said it I knew that we had finally found what we had been looking for.

We live in Camden, we work in Camden, and more importantly - we love Camden. It's vibrant, creative, fun and teeming with a rich cultural heritage.

We set out on researching the history of Camden Town, from the famous market set up by a handful of artists in the seventies to the labyrinth of railway tunnels that run beneath it.

This in turn became the cornerstone of our brand. Each design needed to be contemporary and fashionable, but it also needed to respect the amazing past on which Camden is built.

And thus - The Camden Watch Company was born.

Produced in four batches of 50, each batch sold out fast, and ever since we have received emails and messages asking us if by any chance we've held any back (we haven't), or even if it was possible buy our very own edition (it isn't).

Camden and its market are ever changing, just as the rest of London is evolving, but somehow you can still feel the echoes of Camden's history. Most notably, and perhaps one of the main reasons people visit Camden, is its fundamental place in London's punk scene.
